Susan Lubeck
Founding CEO
FabFemme, Inc.
As the organizing force behind one of the Bay Area's most successful networking and lifestyle groups for gay and bisexual women, Susan Lubeck, 44, drew on her 15 years of marketing and technology experience to launch FabFemme nationwide in April 2007.
FabFemme is the web’s premiere social network for gay and bisexual women passionate about getting the most out of their lives and careers. Taking the concept of social networking beyond the Internet, FabFemme provides women with the inspiration and tools to turn online connections into real-world fun, friends, adventure, and relationships.
Susan began building the FabFemme brand six years ago when, as a recent transplant to San Francisco, she organized an intimate mixer at a wine bar as a way to meet other women in her new community.
Inspired by the evening’s success, Susan continued to organize a variety of activities – from theater outings to sporting events to day trips. The events quickly captured a loyal, grassroots following among women whose lives were genuinely enriched by the social connections they made and the meaningful experiences they shared.
"Rich experiences lead to rich relationships, and it was this realization that motivated me to expand the FabFemme concept online," says Susan, who oversaw the development of the proprietary networking and invitation tools that are a hallmark of FabFemme.com. "I wanted to help women around the country energize and expand every aspect of their social and professional lives."
Susan began her career in the Internet industry at USRobotics in 1995. Since then, she has spearheaded global marketing initiatives at many of the world’s leading technology companies, including Intel, Philips, 3Com and Kodak.
A resident of San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, Susan holds an MBA in international business from DePaul University, Chicago. In addition to founding FabFemme, Susan’s proudest moment is completing the 450-mile Twin Cities-to-Chicago AIDS Ride.
