FabFemme produces mixer events in many of the most fashionably hip venues in the city, such as art galleries, waterfront cafes, four-star hotels, boutique restaurants, outdoor gardens, soulful jazz venues and wine bars. FabFemme also plans fun lifestyle activities such as sailing excursions, wine tours and more.

FabFemme caters to gay and bisexual women who have diverse interests and backgrounds, and who work in a variety of professions such as the arts, entertainment, architecture, design, fashion, film/television, computers, culinary, education, engineering, finance, government, healthcare, fitness and sports, hospitality, journalism, law, media, medicine, non-profit, politics, psychology, publishing, real estate, sales and marketing, science, social service, technology, and travel.

FabFemme currently produces exciting events and fun activities for women who reside in the San Francisco Bay area and in Southern California. With the success of FabFemme in San Francisco, its first pilot site, FabFemme recently launched in Los Angeles in 2004. FabFemme is also considering plans to expand into other markets such as Chicago, New York, Boston, Seattle, Miami and Dallas in the future.
History and Background
FabFemme founder Susan Lubeck arrived in San Francisco from Chicago with a handful of personal contacts. With a busy career as a marketing executive at a biotechnology firm, she didn’t have much time to meet new people. Certainly there were stylish, intelligent, outgoing women in her new hometown. The trouble was how to find and connect with them.
The first step was to bring together the women she did know, and ask them each to bring their friends. They chose a chic, subterranean restaurant and wine bar, Bacar in the South of Market district where soulful jazz trios play nightly. Eighteen vibrant, career-savvy women attended, had a great time, and vowed to do it again. Soon more than a hundred women were attending every event and smiling all the way home.
That was back in 2001. What started as a personal quest to create a thriving social life quickly grew into a multi-city phenomenon helping thousands of gay and bisexual women expand their personal network, get to know each other, and build rich, rewarding, and lasting connections.
Since that time, FabFemme has hosted over 100 social mixer events and lifestyle activities— including art gallery events, film screenings, theater and comedy shows, sports outings, singles events, dinner salons, dance parties, sailing excursions and Napa Valley wine tours.
FabFemme has also partnered with more than 30 non-profit organizations and donated event partial net proceeds to serving the needs of a variety of important medical research, medical care, women and children’s services, civil, human and legal rights, community development and education development programs.
FabFemme Inc was formally established on January 29, 2004. FabFemme strives to continue serving the community in positive and exciting ways. Whether hosting monthly mixers, singles events or activities, one thing is for certain— the atmosphere and camaraderie is always assured to be friendly, engaging and fun!
